Terms of use

Product terms. Not solicitor advice. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

Who this is for

You must be 18 or over and hold a live @exeter.ac.uk email. One account per person. You use your real name — it appears publicly on anything you sell. This product is not affiliated with the University of Exeter or the Students' Guild.

What the product is

A peer-to-peer student ticket exchange. Sellers list a ticket they already hold; buyers pay through the app. We are a marketplace layer, not the event organiser and not a ticket agent for the venue.

Buying and selling

List only your own unused ticket, in your own name, bought for your own use (not for resale, not bought with bots above a per-person limit). Sellers set their own asking price. Buyers see price and fees before paying. One listing = one ticket / one QR. Duplicates are blocked.

Door-fail refund (and limits)

If the QR fails at the door for a genuine entry problem (already used, rejected, cancelled by the organiser), the buyer can open a dispute with evidence. When we uphold it, the buyer gets a full refund of what they paid through the app, and the seller gets a strike (and may be clawed back). We are not liable for: travel, hotels, nights out, missed plans, or anything beyond the ticket amount charged here. Report promptly — leave it too late and we may not be able to help.

Name-locked / organiser risk

Some venues (Timepiece via FIXR is the main local example) name-lock tickets. In rare cases door staff scan the QR and also check the person or ID against the name on the ticket. Buyer and seller both accept that risk when they use the app. Sellers should list under the name printed on the ticket; buyers should expect entry to follow venue policy. We still run the door-fail refund path above when a genuine entry fail is upheld — we just don't guarantee you get in when staff do an ID check.

Money and Stripe

Card payments are handled by Stripe as the payment service provider. Buyers pay the platform. The seller is paid when the buyer pays (Stripe Connect Express transfer to the seller's bank). We do not store card numbers or run our own e-money wallet. Until event start plus two hours, the buyer can report a genuine door fail; if we uphold it, we refund the buyer in full and claw the payout back from the seller. Fees are shown before you confirm.

Conduct, strikes, bans

No scams, no fake tickets, no harassment. Serious or repeated upheld failures can mean strikes and a ban. We keep factual notes on bans. We may remove listings or accounts that break these rules or the law.

Liability (plain English)

We provide the marketplace tools. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for organiser decisions, venue door policy, network outages, or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes liability that English law does not allow us to exclude (e.g. death or personal injury from negligence, or fraud).

Marks and names

Venue, club, university, and Guild names appear only to identify events. We don't claim those trademarks or any affiliation with the University of Exeter, the Students' Guild, FIXR, Timepiece, or other venues.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
