Help with ExeTix — Exeter Ticket Exchange, the student ticket exchange and drop alerts for Exeter nights.
Contact us
Email hello@exeterticketexchange.com. We usually reply within one working day.
Write from your university email if you can (or tell us which one your account uses), and for a ticket, include the night and the order. Never send us a card number or a password.
A problem at the door? Don't wait for email: make a door-fail claim from your ticket page, with a photo or video from the door, before two hours after the night starts. You can also use “Report a problem” at the bottom of any page.
How do drop alerts work?
Follow the nightclubs, societies and single nights you care about, then turn alerts on. We check the organisers' public FIXR pages and push you when a night is announced, 10 minutes before a release time we can read from the organiser's description, the moment tickets go on sale, and when a sold-out night comes back on sale.
A drop ping opens FIXR, where you book yourself: we never buy, hold or reserve tickets for you. Alerts are part of ExeTix Drops, £1.99/month after a 7-day free trial, no card needed to start. Buying and selling never need a subscription. More in How alerts work.
Why didn't I get an alert?
- Notifications. In iPhone Settings → Notifications → ExeTix, turn on Allow Notifications and Time Sensitive Notifications — drop pings are sent as Time Sensitive.
- Focus. A Focus (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work…) can hold notifications back. In Settings → Focus, choose the Focus and allow ExeTix under Apps, or turn on Time Sensitive notifications.
- Follows. You only hear about the nightclubs, societies and nights you follow. Check what you follow on Drops.
- Trial or plan. When a free trial ends without a plan, alerts stop (what you follow stays saved).
- Code-only tickets. Rep, member and guest-list tickets that need a code never trigger a ping.
- New phone or reinstall. Open ExeTix once and sign in so it can register the phone for push again.
Alerts are best effort: pings usually land within seconds, sometimes slower. Still missing one? Email us the night and the time and we'll look.
How do I buy resale safely?
- Every seller has verified a live @exeter.ac.uk email and sells under their real name. One ticket per listing, and each ticket's QR and order reference can only be listed once.
- Pay only in the app. The ticket's QR is released to you only after your payment goes through. Never pay a seller by bank transfer or outside ExeTix — we can't protect that.
- You see the price, the booking fee and the total before you pay, plus the ticket's restrictions (name-locked, 18+).
- If the ticket fails at the door, make a door-fail claim from your ticket page before two hours after the night starts, with a photo or video from the door. If we uphold it, you get a full refund. One claim per term; see Door-fail refund.
What are the fees?
Resale is at cost: buyers pay a booking fee that only covers Stripe's processing — 1.5% + 20p on the payment and 0.25% + 10p on the payout to the seller, rounded up to the penny — and we make nothing on it. For example, a £25.00 ticket costs £25.76 and a £1.00 ticket costs £1.33. Sellers pay no fee and receive their full asking price. No referral cash is paid on booking fees (referrers earn on friends' paid Drops plans instead).
Drop alerts are the separate ExeTix Drops plan (£1.99/month). Buying and selling never need it.
How do I sell a ticket?
- Tap Sell. The first time, set up payouts with Stripe (a Stripe Express account in your name) so you can be paid.
- Pick the night.
- Add a screenshot of the ticket as it sits in FIXR, with the QR, your name and the order reference visible.
- Set your price — we suggest what the night usually goes for — and list it.
When it sells, you're paid to your Stripe Express balance straight away and Stripe pays your bank weekly. Only sell your own ticket that you can't use, never tickets bought to resell. Can go after all? Withdraw the listing from its page.
Refunds and disputes
- Tickets. A ticket is for a set date, so there are no change-of-mind refunds; the refund route is a door-fail claim. The seller gets 24 hours to send their side, then we decide. See Door-fail refund, No 14-day cooling-off and Conduct, strikes, bans.
- ExeTix Drops on the website. Cancel within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. See Drops subscription.
- ExeTix Drops in the iPhone app. Apple takes that payment, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Subscriptions: manage, cancel, restore
- Subscribed in the iPhone app: manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → ExeTix Drops.
- New phone or reinstalled: in the app, Me → Settings → Restore purchases (signed in with the same Apple ID).
- Subscribed on the website: cancel on Drops or through “Manage subscription”.
When you cancel, alerts keep going until the end of the period you've paid for, then stop.
Referral earnings and cash-out
You get £2 booking-fee credit for every friend who joins with your code and follows a nightclub or society (or trades) — and they get £2 off their first booking fee.
Tickets are at cost, so friends' tickets pay no referral cash; each friend on paid Drops pays you £1 a month — cash out to your bank from £5 on Me.
Cash-outs go to your own Stripe Express account, the one sellers are paid through, and Stripe pays banks weekly (on Fridays). Fee credits only reduce booking fees and are never paid out. Full rules: Referral programme and Drops referral earnings; your code and link are on Referral.
Delete my account
In the app: Me → Settings → Delete account. Or email hello@exeterticketexchange.com from your university address and we'll do it for you.
A few things have to finish first: a checkout or sale in progress, a ticket for a night that hasn't happened yet (until two hours after it starts), an open dispute, a cash-out on its way, or an active ExeTix Drops plan (cancel it first). Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription — cancel that in iPhone Settings too. What we keep afterwards, and why, is in the Privacy notice.
